#BeFitAllYear

0

Fitness is a big thing right now. It's like the IT thing. You can do workouts in gyms, at home, in hotels, anywhere really. You can access free workouts online -- one in particular is BeFit. Heard of them? Check out their BeFit 30 Day Burn Calendar and watch their introductory video:

Their workout series are short, but intense (and challenging)! If you're limited on time, this is a great way to quickly work up a sweat. They are roughly about 10 minutes long. What's intimidating about 10 minutes?! EXACTLY! Give yourself no excuses and just give it a go! I enjoyed them and I'm sure you will, too!

Speaking of BeFit, they have their own BeFit Nutrition Supplements. Pretty cool since so many of us are on a fitness journey. I was chosen to try 3 of their products out for a month. When my wonderful box arrived, I opened it to find these three products...

  • BeFit Pre (pre-workout Energy and Endurance Booster (flavor: fruit punch))
  • BeFit Whey Protein (Whey Isolate and Casein Combination (flavor: vanilla))
  • BeFit Burn (fat burner without the jitters)
Needless to say, I was pretty excited for a 30 day supply from BeFit!

Now that BeFit nutrition is here, let me explain what each is.

BeFit Pre: This is a fruit punch flavored pre-workout energy drink. My favorite of the three. There are three key elements required for a good workout: energy, endurance and focus, and that's what you get with this supplement. It's delicious and when you workout super early, a tasty pre-workout drink is a HUGE help!

BeFit Whey Protein: This product helps to support muscle recovery by combining two types of protein, whey and casein. It comes in two flavors: chocolate and vanilla which are also GMO, sugar and gluten free. Mix this with almond milk, a banana, peanut butter and ice cubes and you've got yourself a delicious shake! That's how I enjoyed mine!

BeFit Burn: This product helps your body create thermogenesis (heat), which helps metabolize, or burn fat. It helps to manage cravings and curbs your appetite. You don't get jitters with this one, but to be honest, I've never taken a fat burner before, so to be able to compare it with another product -- well, I can't. It says you don't get jitters because it doesn't over-stimulate your nervous system. I can confirm that I never did get jitters while using it. I'm not sure this product was a good fit for me.

If you'd like to purchase any of their products or if you simply want to check out what they are all about, head on over to www.befitfitnessnutrition.com

#NoExcuses - What does that mean?

1

No Excuses! What does that mean? Well, for me it means giving myself no excuses not to get the job done. I have three kids, you can't tell me that having kids hinders one from achieving their fitness goals! One of those kids just turned one. See, I have a goal in my mind of what I want to achieve in my fitness journey. If I give in to my excuses, then what? I'm taking away from my dream, from my goal. I must stay consistent, not just for myself but for those around me. I know that I've got eyes watching me... I have people who publicly follow me and cheer me on (THANK YOU to those who support me), I know I have people who watch and stare to see what I'm doing next (It's okay, you're still supporting me, just in a silent way) and I know that I probably have people who, well, don't support me, but still watch (Shall I quote the famous Taylor Swift here... "Haters gone hate hate hate hate hate") haha. But don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect and I probably give myself a ton of excuses before I press play. My alarm wakes me up at 4:45am << THAT's ROUGH! but for me, it's easier to get it done and out of the way. I just make sure I get to bed at a decent hour. Working out in the basement is FREAKING COLD, but I dress for the weather so that excuse is out! If I give in, I'm failing myself and I don't really want to do that. I feel that if I fail me, then I fail the people who I inspire. I don't want to let anyone down so I proudly give myself #NoExcuses. It's that simple!!

Sound the alarm!

0

Last night, after posting in a (private) fitness group on Facebook,

"• • • Question for those who WAKE UP EARLY to workout. • • •
What is your morning like once you wake up? Do you drink water? Do you eat breakfast or a small snack? Do you drink some sort of energy drink (E&E)? or do you roll out of bed and dive right into your workout?"

I received over 70 comments! So, I did what any smart, motivated person would do... I set my alarm to sound at 4:45am!

My plan, and I swear, the idea of this plan sounded perfect. I "planned" to go to bed at 9pm. That didn't happen. I "planned" to be asleep before 10pm. That didn't happen either. I "planned" to sleep soundly. That didn't happen either.

Here's what happened...I did go to bed at 9pm and just like every night, for the past 2ish weeks, my sleep has been anything but perfect. No reason as to why... no kids woke up. No dog barking. No alarming sounds to keep me awake. Nope, just me, myself and I keeping myself awake for no apparent reason. Pretty crappy of myself to do that, but for some reason, falling asleep just isn't happening at the hour that it should. So, I tossed and turned and I'm guessing that I passed out around 11/11:30pm, Then (of course there is a then) I must have dreamed that my husbands alarm went off and I also dreamed that he shut it off, I can't quite remember, but I do remember sitting up and looking at his clock and it clearly showing 3:41. WHAT THE?! So, I go back to sleep and at 4:45, my lovely alarm sounds. Let's do this!

I roll out of bed, walk into the bathroom, get my workouts clothes & shoes on, grab my water and head down stairs. I pour myself a glass of water and mix in my pre-workout mix to give myself a boost of energy since energy in my body wasn't present. After about 10 minutes, I head to the freezing basement and push play on Body Beast followed by T25.

I did it, I woke up to my alarm and did a double workout. Hot damn.. I did it! And then exhaustion hit. I expected it to hit me, I just wasn't exactly sure when, but hey, I set my alarm and I did what I had planned to do!

So, I go upstairs and the house is SILENT. Everyone was still asleep. (I might have been a tad jealous - just saying!) I take my shower, get dressed, do my hair and head to the kitchen to drink some much deserved coffee!!

And what do you know... it's snowing outside! I enjoyed my coffee while watching the snow fall & also watching the TODAY show on tv.

As rough as this waking up has been on my body (it's 11:35 now and I feel like I've been up since forever • I guess I kind of have, right? I've been awake for almost 7 hours now) I know that habits form by consistency and what's the saying... it takes 21 days to form a habit! I raise my glass (or coffee mug, because lord knows I need more of that today) to forming a habit!

Happy Tuesday! *YAWN*

New Year • New Me?!

0

Can you believe that we are already FIVE days into 2015? It's crazy... it's crazy how fast a year can go by. It's crazy that I had my third child almost one year ago... in just 5 short days, she'll be one... ONE! Gah! For someone (that someone being me) who took a picture of her every single Friday (because she was born on a Friday) to mark a new week of her age, it's gone by so unbelievably fast. *sigh*

So, what do you have in store for the new year? Did you make any fancy schmancy resolutions? Are you one who laughs are those who make resolutions? << My husband is. He says every year, I don't make those. I didn't even ask him this year because I knew he'd make the same comment. Well, I do. I make them. I don't always share them to others. Why, you may ask? Fear that I'll fail, perhaps. Fear that I will not follow through. So, perhaps I should make them be known. It may hold me accountable. If I share my resolution (maybe some, not all) then if I fail, then I'm not only failing me, I'm failing you. So... what do I hope to accomplish in the year twenty fifteen?

1. I would love to build abs... more defined abs. I want those bumpy looking abs. Ahhh! I see other people my age & not my age who have them and I'm just in awe. So, I want that. Yes, please! I'd like to work towards that. I know it's going to take changing my eating habits. I don't eat bad now, but I'm not the greatest either. When people ask me what is good to eat... GASP... I clam up. I just don't know. I know what I like and what I don't like, but giving advice on food... What if I give the wrong advice? So... I guess I need to educate myself in this whole process.

2. I want to go on a vacation with the family! And eeeeeee!! My hubby just booked it, so I'm stoked because it didn't happen last year!

3. I want to be more present. I can't really elaborate on that... but to me, I know what I mean by it. :)

Those are just a few of the things I hope to accomplish this year.  So, anyway, let's move on. Today is Monday, the FIRST Monday of the new year and it's a fresh start and it's a new day and it's a new page, a blank one, too. Today, I started a new program. Well, not new, but I'm starting Body Beast again. It was so good that I couldn't imagine not doing that program so I've decided to pair it up with another program. Yup, you heard right, I'm doing two programs, not a hybrid, but actually doing two programs. Am I nuts? Ehh... or AM I DRIVEN? You see... Beachbody sent out an email (a couple weeks ago? I think it was a couple weeks ago) and it mentioned information on being in a Body Beast infomercial and that you had until June or July to get results in. That's two rounds of Body Beast that people can get in to get awesome results, so that's been brewing in the back of my head. Do I want to be scuplted? Not particularly, but I do love the results that I've gained thus far from the program and I'm eager to push myself just a little bit more to see where it gets me. Maybe a spot in an informercial? haha.. Dream big, right? I may submit photos, but we're talking six months from now. Anything can happen, but for now, I'm starting round 2 of Body Beast and along side it, I'm going to be doing T25! It's stoked about this combo!

And what better way to start off then to find a sale going on at your most favorite store ever - TARGET! A fitness sale, at that! *swoon* So, yes, I went there and scored some sports bras because I haven't had new ones in a very, very, very long time. I'm excited about my purchase. I even had a coupon on top of the sale they had going and I even shared my news with social media because I know other people would probably be just as excited about a sale as I was. So, that's my Monday... pretty damn good.

Now, it's time to make dinner... Happy Monday!!!

Week 1 of Push

0

Day 5 of Week 1 | Push Phase is halfway over. I just finished Push Circuit 3, but I still have Core 20 to do. Although, I should do it now, I'm going to listen to my body and give it a rest and possibly push play after I take the kids to school.  (and just as I type this, the office door slowly opens and the cutest, sleepy 4 year old boy rubs his eyes and says, "Mommy, I didn't pee my pull-ups!" (he did pee in them, but he was still cute while he stood there telling me this.))

Anyway, this week started out really well, however, I'm starting to feel so exhausted that sleep sounds so much better than getting up. I know that I can't give up and that I when the alarm sounds, it means that it is time to workout. If I keep it up, it'll get easier. I've heard that it takes 21 days to form a habit. If that is truly the case, I've got 16 more days to go! I CAN DO THIS! (positive talk is always a good thing!)

With that being said, I'm glad that I worked out. I absolutely love the feeling of my arms wanting to just give out as I type. I love that my muscles are fatigued. I'm pushing myself and that's the main reason of the Push Phase.

Unfortunately, it is time for me to turn off the computer and attend to the child who is the early riser!

...to be continued!

Let's get this started!

0

<<< Aww yeah!

Yesterday, I started my hybrid workout of Chalean Extreme and Turbo Fire. I found a calendar to follow, printed it and placed it where I would see it every day. Since I had already completed my first month of CLX (that's Chalean Extreme) I decided to start on the 2nd month of hybrid calendar which just happens to be the push phase. (CLX is a 90 day program broken up into 3 phases: Burn Phase, Push Phase and Lean Phase)

My day one started with Push Circuit 1. Push is certainly a key word in this phase as it certainly pushed me to new limits. I had my husband dig out my heavier weights because I wanted that extra challenge. By the end, my arms were shaking just to type. I love that feeling of a good workout.  If you're sore, it means you were doing something right!

Today, was Day 2. My alarm went off at 5:25a.m. and I was up and at 'em! Fire 55 EZ was placed in the DVD player and I was ready to get this started!  I cannot tell you how fired up I am. I truly hope that this continues. I like the idea of being on a schedule and getting my workouts done and over with so that there is no ifs, ands or buts about trying to squeeze in a workout throughout the day.

My day is already starting off the way I envisioned it would! My workout is complete. My work (since I work at home) is done for the morning. (I split my work between morning and evening) Now it's off to the enjoy this beautiful day with my son (since my daughter is in school!)

Have a wonderful, wonderful day! I know I plan to!

Reese's... so good, but so bad!

0

I have a confession to make...
I went to Target yesterday and the clearance signs always pull me in... ALWAYS! And yesterday, I was pulled into the Easter Clearance aisle. OH BOY! Candy and miscellaneous easter crap toys. Of course, I was really drawn to the Easter toys, believe it or not. I was trying to stay away from the other end of the aisle where the badness was. I did find a super cute fox stuffed animal - 70% off! w00t! Since my last name is Fox, I had to grab it! (and it's not for me, it's for my daughter, in case you were questioning me.)

Well, there is only so many toys to look at and that's when I pushed the cart further down the aisle and made a stop. Hersheys, Sweet Tarts, Peeps, gummy snacks, Reese's.... REESE'S!! <stop>

I grabbed the bag of Reese's Eggs and threw it into my cart. On a positive note, at least I only grabbed one. There were plenty more bags left. It's just one bag. Right? One bag can't hurt. Right?

Oh my gosh, today is the following day and I'm afraid to see how empty the bag is. How many freakin'  eggs did I eat?! I feel like I'm a closet Reese's egg eater! Okay, so this is my first real big cheat in a long time. Reese's... so good, but so bad!

Now I must push play. Maybe even push play twice. I'm thinking a little cardio to get me up and moving and energized so that I can feel better and alive! You know what I'm talking about, dontcha? TURBO FIRE, baby!

(I hope that when I finish my workout that I don't reward myself with a chocolate egg. That would be bad.)

Should I snooze?

0

Lately, I have been struggling to get up when my alarm goes off at 5:25 a.m. I mean, seriously struggling. Last week, I didn't even bother turning the alarm off. I figured I was saving myself the step from having to turn it off in the morning to get an extra hour or so sleeping.

See, here's the thing. My intentions are good, but my body is so darn exhausted that it would rather sleep. Sure, that's an excuse but I just couldn't get out of bed and even when I'd wake up for the day (about 2 hours later) I still did not feel well rested. I'm sure staying up until midnight has something to do with it -- I'm working on going to bed earlier.

Anyway, this lovely Thursday morning, I had actually set my alarm the night before and got up when it sounded! It was quite a big deal to me. (I'm giving myself a thumbs up - just so you know!)

Unfortunately, I didn't make the decision on what program I was going to do when I got up. So, I sat there looking at Turbo Fire, Insanity, Brazil Butt Lift, ChaLEAN Extreme and opted for Turbo Fire's Sculpt 30 class. To make it even more of a challenge I used a heavy band. Holy wow! A simple switch in bands and I felt so weak! That sucker was tough, but I did it! My shoulders are going to look FABULOUS!

So, that's that! My workout is done. Time to get the day started. I know the minis will be waking up soon and so starts our morning routine of breakfast, getting ready for school, making the beds and getting out the door without a fight.  It's going to be a great day, I can just feel it!

Oh and this evening at Fit Club, we get to try out Shaun T's newest program, T25 which hasn't even launched it. I've heard it's awesome and I can't wait to get a taste of what it's all about!

Have a great day!

In the beginning...

0

In the beginning, I was not sure of what I wanted to do. In my 30's and still uncertain. Had a wonderful family but still felt like I was missing a part of me, but I couldn't quite put my finger on what I was missing. Designing was always a passion and I stuck with it - fading here and there and then bouncing back. My fitness was the same way. I'd run.... do a race here and there, but still... what was missing?

Fast forward to the move back to the Sunshine State with the rest of my crew! Ahhh! Sunshine and green grass everywhere! Whoops, sorry, got caught in a day dream for a moment (the sunshine and all does kind of make you want to close your eyes, inhale deeply and then slowly exhale) Now, back to my post... I saw a friend of mine post random posts on facebook regarding fitness. It peaked my interest enough for me to finally ask what all of it was about. Fast forward again, and I attend my first Fit Club (which was free! (another thing that caught my attention!)) and pretty much fell in love. Fitness! I love it! I have always loved it! It was one thing that was always a part of me, always with me, in a sense, I felt that without fitness in my life... well then, who the hell am I?! I was learning more about Fit Club and Beachbody and all it had to offer. Sure, it took me about 5ish months of going to Fit Club to finally take another step in the right direction. I signed up to become a coach! (it's as if the gates of heaven opened up and the angels starting singing)

My journey is just beginning! I'm learning how to take better care of myself, not only by exercising on a daily basis, but also feeding my body the right foods. I'm drinking a lots of H2O, too! (well, more than I used to, anyway (since water has always been my beverage of choice)).

So, let's raise our water jugs (because that's all I have to raise that's nearby) and wish me luck on this new venture!
